Orca Express in the harbour

Insulated flotation suits are provided

Breathe in the sea air. Among the fjords, mountains and arctic waters you might be lucky enough to witness the gentle giants.

Seek out Orcas and Humpback whales from the comfort of our 50ft cabin-cruiser the ‘Orca Express’. Our safe and reliable boat provides an excellent platform for photography and viewing of the whales in the stunning setting of the Norwegian fjords.  Your guide will assist in identifying local wildlife and will also send you photos from the trip. A hot meal, hot drinks and snacks are also included.

This 8 hour trip is entirely by boat (no bus transfer required). Cruise directly from Tromsø Harbour to the feeding grounds and watch the show.

Killer whale, Skjervøy

Between October and January we welcome the migrating herring to our local waters. With their arrival, the Orcas and Humpback whales are never too far behind.

Your guide will meet you bright and early at the pick up point, and you will join your group of no more than 12 guests on the voyage. Take a short walk down to the harbour where your skipper will welcome you onboard the Orca Express. We will provide you with insulated floatation suits.

Start off your adventure with a 2.5 hour cruise directly from Tromsø Harbour to the popular feeding grounds of both Humpback whales and Orcas. Once in the area we will begin our search for these incredible animals in their natural habitat. Due to the shortness of days during these months, you will witness both sunrise and sunset whilst out on the water. This is a truly beautiful experience, and a photographers dream.

Hvaldimir

Whales, Skjervøy

You are welcome to stay warm inside the spacious cabin, enjoying hot drinks, snacks and our complimentary wifi, or experience the Nordic sea air and go out on the 360 degree walk-around deck. Your guide will point out any other wildlife in the area, and can answer your questions about the behaviour of these majestic animals. You will have plenty of time for photos and to spend time watching the whales. Photos taken by your guide will also be sent to you after the trip.

As we cruise back to Tromsø, you will enjoy a hot meal prepared by Tromsø’s Mathallen, a popular local restaurant. After what we hope will be a memorable day, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your journey back to the city.

As always, with nature and animals in the wild, we can never guarantee that the whales will come out to play. However, our guide and skipper team are experts in finding activity, and will do their very best to find some action.
